Summer holiday 1/2

Half of my summer holiday has passed. I've spent the whole time in Kotka and had a couple of random occasions to shoot some photos. I also got my hands once on Canon's 300mm f/4 L IS objective, which was a nice experience. I hope I won the lottery today (haven't checked yet!) so I can buy all possible L objectives that exist. Oh yeah, that's what I would do.

I visited a few islands, went to this restaurant called Route 66, drove and walked around Kotka in different areas etc and here's the results. Rest, again, here.

I didn't go out after work today and I thought I wouldn't do anything, just relax and chill. Then I got bored and noticed that my coffee table made of glass, a few lights and a few shot glasses mixed with Coca Cola, orange juice and water could do a nice combination of... something. I decided to go a bit more experimental on the post process this time, so here are the results and the rest here.

A boring Sunday morning with nothing to do. The best idea I could come up with was to go to the zoo and shoot some photos, and man was it a nice summer day! Earlier I also visited a few random places in Espoo but got pretty much nothing out of them. So here's again some shots and the rest here.

I needed to get out 'cause it was so hot, so I decided to see the Bodom-lake for the very first time. They have a pretty nice beach there, gonna have to go swimming there at some point. The beach, though, is not present in the photos I took. Not much pics anyway, I guess my hangover still prevented my creativity to flow. :-P Rest of the images at http://photos.erikoinen.com/

I have a plan of going through all of the well known nature paths in Espoo. I've now covered Hyljeluoto, Elfvik, Hanikko and Sorlampi. I must say that the most interesting one has definitely been Hyljeluoto; I've been there twice and both times it's been covered with birds. Also the sun sets nicely over the bond there, which gives a good mood to the photos!

I can't suggest going to Hanikko or Sorlampi. They are both just plain woods and no light can come in. Although, I was there on the evening time, so maybe during the day they might be better. Elfvik is alright tho, good spots to shoot birds (eh), plenty good looking nature and even cows! Anyway, here's a few shots and the rest you can find at http://photos.erikoinen.com/
